Based on feedback from some users, and with special thanks to sobriquet, I've made some improvements to the screensaver that are now available for download.

Mandelbrot

If you produced a version of the Mandelbrot screen saver that could be used for producing discrete images rather than a series, with variable inputs for evolving the image and its size dimensions, and if the price was reasonable, then I would certainly buy a copy.

Some of the images that appear after a long series of reitterations are hideously spectacular, and it is not easy to screen-grab them at the point of perfection, i.e. just before the next layer starts to build.

The licence terms could have the condition that in any publication of the images, a credit for software was awarded to you and carried your web address. Also transferability and number of seats would be included with all the usual licence gumph. (Three seats per licence seems to have become a common to allow for people to have it on their desktop, laptop and iPad or whatever.)

Price I think reasonable price would be 15~25GBP ~ 20~35USD, or less if you want to sell more.

I feel that you might sell 1,000 to enthusiasts world wide quite easily.

And derivative of above idea would be a 'dump to a log file' from the screen saver of the variables at the instant of screen cancel, which could then be optionally entered manually into the program of the discrete image generator version, or by an option for the prog to read from the dumped file the.

With wide format printing services now available in most UK shopping malls, and A3 printers common in homes, the wall decoration possibilities expand. And T-shirt prints etc etc; or even have a commercial version of the licence for such products.

What do you think
