Comspec corruption: Solved

As a followup to my recent post "Comspec corruption", I'm happy to report that the culprit has been found.

The installer for the client drivers for accessing a Sybase database.

What on earth they were thinking, I'll never know ... but at least I know that I'll need to fix COMSPEC after any reinstall of that driver.

I'd be very interested in knowing which version of the driver you encountered this issue with. I've found a case where the COMSPEC env var had a trailing semicolon in it, and I'm wondering if the Sybase driver is the culprit.

I can't remember the exact installation version, but it was a 12.5 installer for Sybase ASE.
